Lion Defeat BMCC for First Win of 2026 Behind Strong Performance From Kevin Pepe
Freshman Kevin Pepe struck out 10 batters as the righty led Raritan Valley past Borough of Manhattan CC 15-1 on Friday at Diamond Nation. Pepe allowd three hits and one run over six innings while walking one.
RVCC took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after sophomore transfer Nick Sellitti walked, freshman Ryan Hutchins grounded out, shortstop Teddy Garcia walked, and Joey Sanchez grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Lions added one run in the third after Garcia hit a sacrafice fly.
Sophmore Nico Pachamango tossed one inning in relief, giving up a walk, a hit, and striking out one batter.
Ryan Hutchins provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lions with four runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Freshman Andrew Kessler and Nick Sellitti each collected two hits. Raritan Valley's offense had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Teddy Garcia, sophomore Ben Hernandez, and Joey Sanchez led the team with two free passes each. Sophmore utilityman Tommy Baase, Teddy Garcia and Hutchins each stole multiple bags for RVCC. The team had 9 total on the day.
Next up for Raritan Valley is a double header this Saturday at 1:00 and 3:00 against Onondaga CC. Followed by another double header Sunday against Orange County CC. All games will be played at Diamond Nation in Fleminton, NJ.
