Opdyke Leads Lions to Win over Panthers
Paterson, NJ - A strong second half defensive performance by the Lions propelled them to their second win on the season as they downed Passaic County College 61-39. The Lions held Passaic to only 10 second half points, 3 in the third quarter, after giving up 29 total points in the first half. The defensive effort sparked the Lions' offense as Brie Opdyke led the way with 25 points. The only other Lion in double figures was guard Judith Girones Gonzalez who finished the night with 11. Typically the team struggles on the glass, but they were able to control the boards as Allison Seater led the way with 11. Micaela Etlinger and Ja'Nya Mills each chipped in with 9 rebounds and Opdyke had 8.
The Lions host their first home game of the season as they take on Region XIX opponent Harcum College in a 1 PM showdown on Saturday 11/19. The Lions are currently 2-4 on the season.
