BRANCHBURG, NJ (March 15, 2021) - The RVCC Lions Baseball team took down the Union County College Owls to open up their 2021 season. An 8th inning offensive explosion led the Lions to victory.
After the Owls opened the game with a run in the top of the first inning, the Lions answered with three runs in the bottom of the first. The game would remain close until the Lions scored 8 runs in the 8th inning to break the game open. Sophomore 1B Paul Hamilton led the way offensively for the lions with a 4-5 day, including a double an triple. Lions starting pitcher Nick Destio earned the victory going 5 innings while allowing 1 earned run and 7 strikeouts.
The RVCC Lions baseball team returns to action this Saturday, March 20th, when they travel to RCSJ-Gloucester for a doubleheader. Game one is slated to start at 12:00 PM. The game will be braodcasted live on the Roadrunners Sports Network ( https://rcroadrunners.com/watch-live ).
