Former RVCC Administrator, Coach Receives Athletics Service Award
North Branch, NJ -- Greg Jackson of Somerset has been honored with the 2014 Augie Eosso Service Award from the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX. Jackson was presented with the award at the Region XIX Athletic Directors’ Dinner, held October 9 at the Somerset Holiday Inn.
Jackson was employed at RVCC for 34 years before his retirement in 2012. During his tenure as a member of the RVCC Athletics Department staff, his responsibilities included managing game day operations, overseeing facilities, monitoring equipment and uniform inventory, running intramural programs and assisting with all daily functions of the Athletics Department.
“Coach Jackson—as the student-athletes at RVCC called him—was always committed to providing a positive experience for all the student-athletes who compete within Region XIX. He was a mentor to countless student-athletes at Raritan Valley Community College and consistently exemplified and demonstrated committed service and dedication to Region XIX,” said Amanda V. DeMartino, RVCC’s Director of Athletics. “Whether it was assisting at Region XIX meetings or helping to run Region XIX Championship Tournaments, he was always willing to do whatever task necessary to get the job done.”
