Raritan Valley Community College is proud to announce and welcome Fred Orchard as the new Lions Head Baseball Coach. Orchard will be in charge of the Raritan Valley baseball team for the upcoming season.
Orchard has over 10 years of coaching experience and has spent the last 6 years as assistant coach for the Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham Campus baseball team. While in Madison, the Devils made two Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament appearances and had a second-place finish in the 2014 ECAC Tournament. Orchard is also currently a coach for the Jersey Pilots in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.
Orchard states: “I am honored to be named the next Head Baseball Coach here at Raritan Valley Community College. I would like to thank Athletic Director George Eversmann for trusting me with leading the RVCC baseball program.”
Orchard holds a Bachelor of Education in Health and Exercise Science from Rowan University where he was a member of their NCAA Division III baseball program, while also playing one season at Division II Felician University. He also holds certifications in CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid.
George Eversmann, Director of Athletics at Raritan Valley, states: “ Fred brings to RV the qualities and recruiting experience that we need for our baseball program as we look to rebuild a balanced culture of academic and baseball success. We are excited for the future as Fred will make an immediate impact with his ability to recruit and coach our players throughout the season.”
Raritan Valley Community College competes in the Garden State Athletic Conference and is a member of the NJCAA Region XIX.
