Bio
David deVelder has over 10 years of coaching experience at the high school, club and amateur league levels. A member of the NSCAA, he currently holds a USSF “E” license. A Somerset native deVelder was a member of the varsity soccer team at Franklin High School. After high school he helped establish Empire United Soccer Club, which has been a consistent high level team in the Garden State Soccer League since 1999. In 2002 he began a seven year stint at Piscataway High School where he served as the Head JV Coach and Assistant Girls Varsity Coach. During his time at Piscataway, deVelder worked with squads that appeared in both County Semi-Final and State Tournaments, with several team members continuing their athletic careers at the college level.
DeVelder holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Multidisciplinary studies from Cambridge College and is currently finishing up a Master’s Degree of Special Education from New Jersey City University. He teaches Special Education at Readington Middle School and was recently awarded Governor’s Teacher of the Year Recognition. Coach deVelder resides in Hillsborough, NJ with his wife Amanda, and their daughter Grace.
