Women's Soccer Ties in an Exciting Match Against Bergen County College
The Golden Lions competed against the Bulldogs of Bergen County College on Monday. RVCC entered the match with a record of 4-6 and came ready to play. The game started well for the lions as they took the lead with about 12 minutes to go in the first half. Lion #15 scored the first goal of the half off of a through ball from Amy Shivers. RVCC finished out the first half well in control and took the 1-0 lead heading into half time. In the second half the Bergen Bulldogs came out aggressive from the start and continued to control most of the half. RVCC's defense began to slow down and miscommunicate which lead to Bergen's first goal of the game with 7 minutes to go. After a tireless over time effort from both squads the game ended in a 1-1 tie. RVCC has played two great games in just three days finishing with positive results from both games. Bergen commented on the impressive improvement in the Lion's squad in just one year as they were defeated in the 2010 season by the Bulldogs.
The Lady Lions record is now 4-6-1. They are preparing of their next game when the travel to Montgomery County College on 10/12/11.
