The RVCC Baseball team took to the field on Friday, March 1st for their season-opener on the road against the Roadrunners of Gloucester County College. Gloucester came into the game ranked #5 in the nation amongst NJCAA DIII Schools.
Clayton Shaw toed the rubber for the Lions in their season-opener. Clayton turned in a solid 5 innings of work registering 2 K's while surrendering 4 runs(3 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks. Bill Mendek, who was on the mound for the Roadrunners, threw a gem against the Lions holding RVCC to 2 hits and 1 walk in route to a 10-0 victory. With the loss, the Lions drop to (0-1 overall) and will look to rebound this Saturday, March 2nd against the Panthers of the Borough of Manhattan Community College of Region XV. GO GOLDEN LIONS!
