Lions Defeat Bulldogs

Paramus, NJ – The RVCC Women’s Basketball Team traveled to Bergen Community College on Tuesday February 5thto take on the Bulldogs. The Lions won the out of region battle 57-37 behind a strong defensive effort. 

The Lions only had two players in double figures on the night. Adrienne Amey led all scorers with 17 points. Amey has utilized her unmatched speed all season long to turn defense into offense. The sophomore guard from Belvidere High School was able to turn her team high 3 steals into 6 easy transition points. Moira Phillips was the only other Lion in double figures as she finished with her first double double of the season, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 boards. Phillips has been the most consistent rebounder for the Lions all season long, but on this night got her offense going as well. Never one to take unwarranted shots, Phillips went 3-6 from the field including 1-2 from downtown on the night. 

The Lions have now beaten Bergen Community College for two straight seasons. The Lions will get back into region play Thursday February 7thas they travel to Scranton to take on the Lackawanna College Falcons.
