Nicole Spiotta joins Raritan Valley as the new Head Softball Coach after two years of coaching the Union County College Owls and finishing a successful softball career as a catcher for Drew University.  She was the captain of her Drew University team during junior and senior seasons and incredibly started, at catcher, in all but one game of her entire four year career.  She was named to the 2ndteam All-Landmark Conference team in her sophomore and senior seasons.  During her senior season, she led the team in batting average, hits, fielding percentage, fewest strike outs and sacrifice bunts.  Nicole's career statistics put her in Drew University's Top Ten in doubles and most games started/played.  While at Drew, Nicole started her instructing career by training players of all ages at all phases of the game at numerous summer and winter softball camps.

Nicole also excelled off the field, while at Drew University where she earned a degree in Political Science with a double minor in Sociology and Spanish.  She was named to the Landmark Conference All-Academic team and the Dean's List all four years of her college career.  She served on the Drew University Student Athlete Advisory Committee and was awarded the prestigious Drew University Harry Simester Award in 2011 which is given to one student-athlete University wide who demonstrates the most character, dedication, and personality over a 4 year period.  Prior to going to Drew, Nicole had a very successful career at Morristown High School.  She was the team captain and was an all-county player for two seasons. Nicole has brought her playing and teaching experience and passion for the game of softball to Gamers Academy.

 Nicole was the head softball coach for Union County College after being the assistant coach to the team in their first season. Nicole improved not only the players’ skills, but the development of the softball program at Union County College as well.  Currently Nicole is the Director of Softball Operations at Gamers Academy in Kenilworth where she is in charge of travel teams, classes, camps and clinics as well as personal and team instruction. 

Nicole is very excited to join the Golden Lions staff and help her players understand and become successful student-athletes.
