Golden Lions name Nicole Spiotta Head Softball Coach
Raritan Valley Community College has named former Union County College head coach Nicole Spiotta as its new head softball coach. The Morristown, New Jersey native comes to RVCC after spending the last two seasons at Union County College serving as an assistant coach her 1st season and then as the head coach in her 2nd season for the Owls.
Prior to becoming a coach, Spiotta was a standout athlete at both the high school and college level. As the softball team captain at Morristown High School, Coach Spiotta was named 2nd team All-Conference as a junior and then 2nd team All-Conference & All-County as a senior. Coach Spiotta also excelled in the classroom which afforded her the opportunity to continue her softball career at the college level as a member of the Drew University softball team.
While at Drew, Spiotta once again excelled on the field as well as in the classroom. As a member of the Dean's List all 4 years at Drew University, Coach Spiotta also garnished athletic accolades such as: 2-time 2nd team All-Conference while serving as the Softball Captain her junior and senior season. During her senior campaign, Nicole led the team in batting average, fewest strike outs, most hits, sacrifice bunts and fielding percentage.
Coach Spiotta currently serves as the Director of Softball and Marketing Coordinator for Gamers Baseball Academy in Kenilworth, NJ.
